Opening of new Career Center at KSTU named after I.Razzakov |

Dear colleagues and friends!
We want to share with you great news on opening of new Career Center. Meeting of Academic council of Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I.Razzakov was held on 31st of January 2007 and according to the agenda of the meeting the main point was opening of Career Center at home university under the marketing and international relations department. After the voting process the Career Center opening issue was adopted.

Career Center's creation and development seminar |

Dear colleagues!
Association of Educational Establishments «Education Network» invites member institutions to take part on Career Center's creation and development seminar, which will be held on February 10th, at 11:00 a.m.
Seminar goals:
-
To grant the information on: Career Center - as institution, Status of the Career Center in organizational structure of HEI, Mission and strategy of Career Center (Practical examples).
-
To share with experience on rendering of informational and practical assistance to find more available place for internship to the students, on event management process, that helps to strengthen links between HEIs and business.
-
To share with experience on an administrative and managerial aspect on organization of Career Centers in HEIs. .
Participants:The program of the seminar aimed to the faculty staff, who are interested in creation and development of Career Centers or similar structures at home university.
HEIs speakers:American University Central Asia, Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics, Specialist Purpose Oriented Institute under the KNU, Center of Management and Economics under the KNU and Kyrgyz State Law Academy will make presentations and share with the gained experience.

USAID Launching a New Accounting/Certified International Professional Accountant (A/CIPA) Project Implemented by the Pragma Corporation.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded the Pragma Corporation a new two-year Accounting/Certified International Professional Accountant (A/CIPA) Project in Central Asia.
Pragma has been implementing USAID's accounting program in Central Asia since 2000 as part of larger USAID programs to support small and medium enterprise development. During this time over 62,000 exams have been taken and almost 6,000 participants have qualified for certification.

Grants Competition for development of HEIs career centers |
|
Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) announces on Small Grants Competition for development of HEIs career centers in Kyrgyz Republic.
Contemporary labor-market requires highly qualified specialists. In this context, quality of education of the most institutions as it usually does not meet requirements of business. As a result, the lack of cooperation between HEIs and business, from the point of real business needs satisfaction, resulted in inefficiency of educational system. Primary goals of Career Centers are assistance in making connecting links between HEIs and business, preparation of students for self-actualization at labor-market, support and development of alumni and HEIs contacts.
Application forms can be accepted only from pilot HEIs that took part in previous components of EFCA program "Improving quality and clarity assistance at higher education": quality rate determination of educational programs, teaching and consulting programs for Career Centers of these HEIs.

Information Support Courses MASHAV 2007 |
|
The International Cooperation Center MASHAV, Israel conducts educational courses in Russian and English languages every year. Topics and dates of the courses are outlined for the whole year. Age limitations for the candidates: from 25 until 45-50 years old. In accordance with the rules of the Institute, candidate must have the higher education according to the course topic and work experience from 2 until 7 years.
Participation conditions:

Two filled application forms;
-
Medical certificate (p. 6 of the form), certified by any Medical organization with State License;
-
3 photo (passport format);
-
Copies of Passport and Diploma of Higher Education according to the course topic;
-
References (1 or 2);
-
Copy of Language knowledge certificate (no lower than Upper Intermediate). In case if you don't have any certificates that confirms your knowledge degree, you will have the chance to pass through the interview with the Embassy representative (requirement not for the Russian language courses).
Package of documents (two copies) can be accepted in the MASHAV Center: room ¹ 518, 96 "A" Kievskaya Str., Bishkek, tel.: +996 312 623-683, then sending them to Israel Embassy in Kazakhstan.

World Bank Office in the Kyrgyz Republic and Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia are pleased to announce the competition between non-governmental organizations, in order to take part at the Small Grant Program 2007.
The purpose of the Program is to assist in social and economic development of the society. The program is called to assist to positive changes in development of one or several following ways:

Development of human resources;

Social mobilization and consolidation of the society;

Local communities' development.
Preference will be given to the projects aimed to activisation of youth, integration of people with limited possibilities and children into full-fledged society from risk group.

Association of Educational Establishments «Education Network» conjointly with the Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Canada have the honor to invite the member universities to participate at the 2007 Atlantic Association of College and University Student Services (AACUSS) conference.
Participants of AAUCC conference have to present papers on an aspect of Student Services in post secondary institutions in Kyrgyzstan or Central Asia. More specifically, the presentation may discuss the impact of internationalization on Student Services within HEIs and share innovative programming ideas.
Participation: present theme and short abstracts of the papers, CV and fill in «traveler information».
Participants will be selection on competitive base, participation of selected one's will be funded.
