CIS students discussed relevant region problems |

November 28-29, 2006 at Kyrgyz-Turkish"Manas" University 230 students from all Kyrgyzstan regions and students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Bulgaria took part at the annual International "Manas Cup 2006" by parliamentary debates.
The goals of this Championship are to integrate CIS countries youth and to create platform for discussion relevant problems of contemporaneity.
During the emulative debates participants discussed very urgent questions about human rights observance, western culture influence. They elaborated energy and economical problems solution mechanisms, and methods for Central Asian countries development and integration. Resolutions were assumed over each problem.
Tournament was realized in three Leagues: Russian, Kyrgyz, and English. Winners of all three Leagues were debaters from Kyrgyzstan, which were good at arguing over experienced debaters from other countries.
Russian League:
1st place: KRSU Team - Timur Ismailov, Nurlan Abdaliev.
Kyrgyz League:
1st place: KNU Team - Toshtuk Almazbek uulu, Nurgazy Chynaliev
English League:
1st place: AUCA Team - Nurgul Iminova, Gulmira Churokova
The best speaker:
Russian League - Altynai Jumasheva (KRSU)
Kyrgyz League - Toshtuk Almazbek uulu (KNU)
English League - Anton Kim (Uzbekistan)
Organizers of this event were Social Fund "Peremena", Youth Initiative Center, KTU "Manas" with the help of Soros Foundation Kyrgyzstan and European Committee.
The Tournaments of similar scale are realized in Kyrgyz Republic on regular base since Debate Program was established. Last year Debate Program in Kyrgyz Republic celebrated its 10th anniversary. The Debate Program's development is in close association with Democratic Education Center that was reorganized in 1999 to Social Fund "Peremena".
