"Education Network" Association and Eurasia Foundation of Central Asian organized the roundtable "Career Centers- connecting link between HEI and business companies".

The event was organized within the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asian (FECA) project on development of Career Centers at universities in Kyrgyzstan, realizing by "Education Network" Association with support of Kyrgyz-Turk University "Manas."

The participants of the round table were the training attendants of the Career Centers Development project, and business representatives.

Primary intent of the round table is to present pilot Career Centers to business companies as partners, which can provide information on students- interns and graduates- employees for business, conduct labor market research works, and assist in search for graduates with required skills.

Rector of KTU "Manas" and representatives of the Ministry of education, science and youth policy opened the round table by welcoming speech. Rector of "Manas" University greeted the participants with a warm welcome and emphasized the importance of conducting similar events and readiness of the University to support all undertakings. Representatives of the Ministry of education, science, and youth policy acting chief of the Department of higher, secondary professional and graduate education stressed the timeliness and urgency of the round table theme. Leading Expert of Higher, Middle professional and post-graduate education gave a report at the "Business-education and community cooperation" subject.

Business representatives prepared short reports. Official from HR department of the KUMTOR Operating Company talked about conducting student internship events at the Company, the nearest plans, and readiness to work with Career Centers. "Yashar" Ltd. narrate about the problems they meet under the students hiring or internship; "Forester" Ltd. or trading network "Narodny" presented the information about student internships, quantity of enrollment, quality of knowledges, and about vacant positions and the hiring process. The President of "Inter Bishkek" Ltd. gave a report about problems between HEIs and business sector, possible ways of solving issues, and about joint activities. Representative of the Republic Youth Labor Exchange organization opened the subject on the employment of students, age scale and given abilities.

The round table discussions were in general held in warm and friendly atmosphere. Participants wished to conduct similar activities in enlarged (broadened) format.
