Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) announces on Small Grants Competition for development of HEIs career centers in Kyrgyz Republic.
Contemporary labor-market requires highly qualified specialists. In this context, quality of education of the most institutions as it usually does not meet requirements of business. As a result, the lack of cooperation between HEIs and business, from the point of real business needs satisfaction, resulted in inefficiency of educational system. Primary goals of Career Centers are assistance in making connecting links between HEIs and business, preparation of students for self-actualization at labor-market, support and development of alumni and HEIs contacts.
Application forms can be accepted only from pilot HEIs that took part in previous components of EFCA program "Improving quality and clarity assistance at higher education": quality rate determination of educational programs, teaching and consulting programs for Career Centers of these HEIs.
Pilot HEIs: Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, Osh State University, American University in Central Asia, Kyrgyz State Law Academy, Bishkek Finance and Economics Academy, Naryn State University and Kyrgyz-Turkish MANAS University.
Only one application from one organization can be accepted.
GRANTS' RATES:
Maximum sum of given grant is $ 4000 (four thousand US Dollars). Proper contribution of declarant organization is required (in any form). Activity of your organization over the project must be finished during 6 months, maximum since the moment of project approval and finance payment.
CRITERIA OF WINNERS SELECTION:

Conformity of the project idea with Program priority directions;

Urgency and meaning of the problem at one or another region;

Conformity of planning activity's goals and objectives over the project;

Experience and qualification of the declarant organization and executors;

Partnership with other organizations;

Budget rationality;
PROJECTS THAT ARE NOT LIABLE TO BE FINANCING:

Construction and maintenance of buildings and constructions;

Science and research programs;
-
Participation at long-run educational programs and trainings abroad;

Industrial projects (making subsidiary economy, sewing shop, mill, mini-bakery, and so on);

Moneyed and humanitarian assistance for privates and groups of people;
-
Making religious or/and political activity;
-
Purchasing production equipment and cars, and other equipment, those are not necessary for project realization for HEIs' Career Centers development.
APPLICATIONS CONSIDERING AND GRANTS GIVING:
Grants are considered and awarded by Small Grants Committee consisted from officials of Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia with other international and local experts.

Deadline for Small grants project Application Forms is up to 17.00 p.m., 1 Febryary, 2007 г.

Filled application form and logical project Model (in Russian, attached to this announcement or available in Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia Office in Bishkek);

CVs of the main executors with detailed description of functions over the project and previous experience related to this project topic.

At the application form name of the organization and review, group leader and contact information must be indicated.

Grant Management Department's Filled Form and the list of required authorized and other documents.
