"Education Network" Association held "The main tendencies of education content and quality assessment systems changings" conference in the frames of Foundation "Soros-Kyrgyzstan" Assistance in reforming of higher education project and USAID Accounting/Certification of International Professional Accountants Project with the support of Ministry of education and science of Kyrgyz Republic on December 4-5, 2007 in Issyk-Kul hotel(Bishkek city).
The purpose of the conference was to discuss openly the results of the development of State Educational Standards process on the skillful basis, and the Guidance on organization of internal system of quality guarantee in HEIs of Kyrgyz Republic with the heads of Ministry of education and science of Kyrgyz Republic and unions of HEIs of KR and give suggestions for further development of project lines on these issues.
During 2007 there were so much efforts made in order to develop projects of new generation State Educational Standards and internal systems of quality guarantee, considering international experience and national peculiarities in the frames of "Assistance in reforming of higher education" project by "Soros-Kyrgyzstan" Foundation, "Education Network" Association, USAID project on development of Accounting/Certification of International Professional Accountants, academic community, presenting 25 HEIs of Kyrgyz Republic, experts, with support of the Ministry of education and science of Kyrgyz Republic.
As the results of these activities we have the model of the III generation State Educational Standard on the skillful approach, projects of the standards on 9 courses, project of Guidance on arrangement of internal system of quality guarantee in Kyrgyz Republic HEIs, which were discussed in this conference.
The participants of the conference: "Soros-Kyrgyzstan" Foundation experts, representatives of the Ministry of education and science, heads of HEIs unions and associations.
